The nomination process of candidates of 2010 Wolesi Jirga Election started on April 20 and was over on May 5.
According to Independent Election Commission Regulations, before the preparation of preliminary list of WJ candidates, all the documents related to candidates, have to pass a verification process. As the result of the verification, 2447 candidates, including 386 women has reached to the preliminary list of candidates. But 226 candidates, including 33 women have been removed from the list, allegedly because of their incomplete documents.
But this is not the final list. From May 12 to June 10, the Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) is going to hear the complaints. Therefore, any Afghan citizen who may have complaints, as well as the candidates whose names have been removed from the primary list and are not satisfied with the given reasons by the IEC, can submit their complaint to ECC. The ECC will adjudicate the complaints and will make final decisions. So, if you have any complaints, you can raise it until June 10, 2010.
